A lively and dramatic program featuring jazz, blues, and modern brass selections including St. James Infirmary, Royal Garden Blues, and the Malcom Arnold Quintet. The concert is free with donations gratefully accepted.

Lineage is located at 920 E. Mountain Street in Pasadena, in the same building as the CVS on the corner of Lake and Mountain. Because Lineage is new, we recommend caution when using a map app to locate them by name. Parking is free in the CVS lot - please ignore the 1 hour parking signs in the lot. This venue is handicap accessible.

GETTING TO LINEAGE

Proof of Vaccination required. Masks must be worn at all times while inside of the building. This facility is fully air conditioned.

Oakwood Brass concerts bring the classical brass quintet sound to smaller venues featuring newly commissioned works and guest artist. Established in 2009, the group currently presents music that is fun and lively to audiences using the classical brass quintet sound with a wide range of genres including classical, jazz, and media music.

Harvey Pittel was our featured guest artist in a concert entitled “Saxophone Counts as Brass, Right?”

Oakwood Brass musicians with composer and trumpeter Aaron Smith.

Art Share LA, March 2018. Selections from “Music Rolls off the Hills” by Bob Clendenen. Rolling Hills performed here by Daniel Lawlor and Darren Dvoracek. This selection can be performed on trombone and tuba, cello and tuba, or two tubas as originally written.

Performing throughout Southern California, Oakwood Brass brings a unique blend of classical, jazz, and contemporary music to concert audiences of all ages. Winners of the prestigious Beverly Hills Competition, Oakwood Brass has performed in the “Classical Crossroads First Fridays at First” music series and “Concerts by the Sea,” a popular chamber music series in Escondido.

Yearly performances have included the “Music @ Noon” series at Pasadena Presbyterian Church, senior living residences, and boys and girls clubs in southern California.

Oakwood Brass - Chamber Ensemble is a part of Oakwood Brass - Outreach Project. OBOP is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring the classical brass quintet sound to the community. Donations to Oakwood Brass - Outreach Project are tax deductible under Federal ID 47-4715942. Oakwood Brass - Outreach Project is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
